With the assistance of M4C project of Swisscontact Bangladesh, Char Development and Research Centre (CDRC) of Rural Development Academy (RDA) Bogra, Kazipur Upazila Parishad, Sirajganj and National Development Programme (NDP) jointly celebrated the International Women’s day (IWD) 2019 at Char Sanbandha, Khasrajbari, Kazipur, Sirajganj on 8 March 2019.

The event commenced with a rally where participants chanted slogan using the theme for IWD 2019 “Think Equal, Build Smart, Innovate for Change”. Later on, the event included a panel discussion, display of crops produced by char women and display of quality inputs by agricultural input Company ACI Crop Care. Free health Services (i.e. check blood pressure, random blood sugar, weight and blood grouping) for char women done by a medical team of NDP. Dr. Md. Abdur Rashid, Director, CDRC, RDA and Project Director, M4C graced the event as the chief guest whereas Dr. Abdul Majid Pramanik, Deputy Director, RDA as the chairperson of the event. Other participants were Utpal Kumar Dutta and Md. Rabiul Hasan Intervention area Manager, M4C project, Md. Shamsul Alam, Intervention Specialist, NDP and other noted members from the Union Parishad. The Women UP member of Khasrajbari stated in her speech that they are very happy to organize this type of event in Chars, which will be very encouraging for women producers/ entrepreneur of Chars.
